Hand to Hand Workshop and Book Launch with Duo Mano a Mana
Brazilian company Mano a Mana has developed a methodology for practice and teaching hand to hand and general acrobalance that has translated into their new book. The idea for the book, as much as this workshop, is to present to people their way to learn and teach the techniques of hand to hand and acrobatic partner. It is based on elements and it helps to discern different aspects of these disciplines in a way to improve people’s technique through knowledge and caring. This will be a practical and theoretical workshop to present the methodology and experiment a little on the body.
About Mano a Mana
Mano a Mana is a creation of Dyego Yamaguishi and MarĂlia Mattos, combining Mano’s 15 years of practice and study of Hand to Hand, with more than 20 years of Mana’s Acrobatics practice. Both are also dedicated to researching the teaching of these arts that they have practiced since before becoming a duo and understanding each other in the mobilization of disseminating Hand to Hand and Acrobatics techniques based on care. In 2024, they published their first book: “MĂŁo a MĂŁo por Mano a Mana” – on paper, audiobook and digital – with national distribution in Brazil. This workshop will launch the methodology book version in English at the National Centre for Circus Arts.
In addition to touring with authorial artistic presentations, the duo carry out multiple other activities: the practice, teaching and research of hand-to-hand and Russian bar techniques, the written compilation of their research for publication in textual and audiovisual materials, and the annual Hand to Hand Festival, with hand to hand meetings for community training throughout the year.

The workshop is focused on people interested in hand to hand, either practicing, learning or teaching.
Mano a Mana do not use the division by development levels as the methodology is based on Elements. Each person will apply this knowledge within their repertoire and level of skills.
